# Capture new sign-ups with the popup

This automation shows a popup to visitors who aren't part of the program yet and invites them to join in exchange for points. It's the fastest way to turn someone who's just browsing into a registered customer.

You set it up from "**Automations**", in the "**Capture new sign-ups**" card, with "**Edit**".

### How it works

### Customize the popup

In "**Customize the popup**" you upload the image the customer will see *(recommended 1200 x 900 px horizontal, minimum 1040 x 780 px; in the store it's cropped to the center to fill the space)*.

The popup text is generated automatically: if you have welcome points active, they're included in the message.

With "*Preview*" you see how it looks before activating it. When it's ready, leave the automation set to "*Active*" so it starts showing.

### How to read its numbers

<Tip>
  With these three figures you see whether the popup is showing and whether it convinces. If it appears a lot but signs up few, try changing the image or the offer.
