# Frequently asked questions

  <Accordion title="Does Livy modify my theme's code?">
    No. Livy installs as a Shopify app and works with blocks and the admin
    panel. It doesn't edit your theme's code.

  <Accordion title="What language are emails sent in?">
    The language is detected automatically based on your store's configuration in
    Shopify. Spanish for Spanish-language stores, English by default for the rest.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Do points expire?">
    It depends on your configuration. You can define an expiration period or leave
    points with no expiration. Expiration changes are applied retroactively
    with a minimum 30-day grace period.

  <Accordion title="Can I combine points with discount codes?">
    Yes. Points redemption stacks with cart recovery codes. If the
    points discount doesn't end up being applied, the points are refunded.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="How do I know if a sale came from cart recovery?">
    Attribution is done by the checkout token of the completed cart, not by the
    discount code. This avoids misattribution when there are multiple active codes.

  <Accordion title="What happens if a customer cancels the points discount?">
    The reserved points are automatically returned to their balance and the
    cart discount is cleared.

  <Accordion title="Does Livy send emails to customers who didn't consent?">
    No. Every send passes through a marketing gate that validates consent before
    sending any communication or generating an incentive.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Do I need technical knowledge to use Livy?">
    No. All configuration is done from the admin panel embedded in
    Shopify. The API is optional, for advanced integrations.
