# Plans and usage

> How order limits, credits, and usage alerts work.

Your Livy plan defines how many orders and credits you can consume per period.

## Plan limits

## Usage alerts

When you approach your plan's limit (orders or credits), Livy notifies you so
service isn't interrupted.

  When you cross the low threshold (less than 5% remaining) you receive an email notice and a
  banner in the admin panel. Topping up credits or orders is **not
  automatic** unless you explicitly enable it.

## Automatic order purchasing

You can enable automatic purchasing of extra orders so the program keeps
working without intervention when the quota runs out.
