No. Livy installs as a Shopify app and works with blocks and the admin panel. It doesn’t edit your theme’s code.

Attribution is done by the checkout token of the completed cart, not by the discount code. This avoids misattribution when there are multiple active codes.
The reserved points are automatically returned to their balance and the cart discount is cleared.
No. All configuration is done from the admin panel embedded in Shopify. The API is optional, for advanced integrations.
