Every business has customers who bought once and never came back. This automation wakes them up: it reminds them of the points they have saved and, if needed, gives them an exclusive discount to bring them back. You set it up from “Automations”, in the “Reactivate inactive customers” card, with “Edit”.

Define when a customer is inactive

You choose after how many days without buying you consider a customer inactive. It comes with 90 days by default, but that’s just a starting point: ideally you adjust it based on how often people tend to buy in your store.
A business where people buy every week isn’t the same as one where they buy a couple of times a year. If you choose too few days, you’ll mark as inactive someone who’s still in their normal rhythm; if you choose too many, you’ll be late.
Minimum value: The minimum is 30 days. That’s because Email 1 is sent 15 days before your threshold, so that margin is needed for the reminder to go out in time. You can adjust the number whenever you want.

How it works

1

Livy counts the days since the customer's last purchase.

2

15 days before your threshold: it sends Email 1 with a reminder of their points.

3

When the days are up: if they still haven't bought, it sends Email 2 with an exclusive discount.

4

If the customer comes back and buys, they're marked as active.

For example, with a 90-day threshold, Email 1 goes out at day 75 and Email 2 at day 90.

Set up the two emails

Email 1: Reminder

15 days before your threshold, it reminds them of their points.

Email 2: Reactivation discount

When the days are up and only if there was no purchase; it includes a code that you create in your Shopify admin and select in ‘Discount code’.

How to read its numbers

Inactive

Customers who passed your threshold of days without buying.

Contacted

How many received an email from this automation.

Reactivated

How many came back to buy after being contacted.
If you go into the settings, you see the performance of each email:

Sent

How many emails went out.

Open rate

How many opened the email.

Clicks

How many clicked inside the email.
Keep in mind: every email Livy sends uses a credit from your plan. If you run out of credits, sending pauses until they renew or you add more. And something important: without the customer’s consent, Livy doesn’t send anything.
