Many customers add products to the cart and leave without buying. This automation brings them back with up to two emails: first a reminder and, if they still don’t buy, one with a discount code. You set it up from “Automations”, in the “Recover abandoned carts” card, with the “Edit” button.

How it works

1

Livy detects a cart that didn't end in a purchase.

2

1 hour later: it sends Email 1 with the products the customer left behind.

3

24 hours after the first: if they still haven't bought, it sends Email 2 with your discount code to give them the final nudge.

4

If the customer comes back and buys, the cart is marked as recovered.

Set up the two emails

Each email is turned on or off separately, and with “Preview” you see how it looks before turning it on.

Email 1: Cart reminder

Reminds the customer of the products they left in the cart, so they can pick up the purchase where they left off.

Email 2: Recovery discount

Includes your discount code. You create it in your Shopify admin and select it in ‘Discount code’.

How to read its numbers

On the card you see the overall result:

Abandoned

Carts that were left without a purchase.

Recovered

Carts that ended in a purchase after the reminder.

Recovery rate

What percentage of the abandoned carts you managed to recover.
If you go into the settings, you see the performance of each email:

Sent

How many emails went out.

Open rate

How many opened the email.

Clicks

How many clicked inside the email.
Keep in mind: every email Livy sends uses a credit from your plan. If you run out of credits, sending pauses until they renew or you add more. And something important: without the customer’s consent, Livy doesn’t send anything.
